Graduation

Today, my sister graduated her elementary school. I couldn't come because I had to stay at my school. At our school, we also did graduation. We sat on the chair and heard the principal speech. Before the speech, my friends and I went to supermarket and bought something to eat. During the graduation, we shared with friends and ate all of it. Also, we played some games during the graduation. Watching our senior graduating was not that fun. They just go up to the stage and get certification and get down to the stage. And about 400 seniors had to do it. Watching the same thing for 400 times does not seem fun. So we chat and played games. After graduation, only our class should clean the entire auditorium and put the chairs back. When I finished all my family went to Chinese restaurant to eat our lunch. It was hard but happy day. 

New years day

    I went to Yongin on monday because it was new year's day. We planned to eat lunch at there, so we left Wonju early in the morning. Because of getting up so early, I fell asleep as soon as I get on the car. It took about 2 hours getting Yongin. After we arrive, we waited for others to come. While waiting, my cousins gave me lots of chocolate for Valentine Day. She made all of those chocolate. However I just bought one bar of chocolate and gave it to her. I was so sorry for her just giving one bar of chocolate. When all of the cousins arrived, we ate short-rib stew, Korean style meatball, vegetable pancake and many other things. After eating lunch, we bowed to adults in Korean traditional style and got some money. We went to sauna with the money we got. It was a really special day for everyone because it is only once a year. And I think I spent the day happiest.

A Dark Brown Dog - Stephen Crane

  Some people think that heredity affects people's lives. They also think that the rich have a peaceful happy life and the poor are violent ones. These opinions could be right, but it could also be wrong. Rich could have more opportunities than poor. However, the most important thing is the will.

  In this story, boy kicked the dog when he felts frightened. The boy learned this from his father. His father does violent things when he is feeling bad or mad at something. In this part of the story, author was trying to say that social environment affects us a lot. Another part of the story, he hits his wife and throws things in the kitchen. Also, one part of the story, he allows the dog to stay at home. The reason was all of the family member refused and didn't like the dog to stay at the house. From this part of the story, author is trying to say that poor people are very cruel and violent. And they also like to oppose others just to create an argument.

  To compare with my experience, I have a friend who had a harsh life. Their parents always fight and they were very poor. Sometimes she even got beaten by her father, when his father was drunk. However, she was very kind and faithful person. She always studied hard and helped other people. Teachers also say that she is responsible student in our class. Like this, the opinion that the poor are always violent and cruel does not seem right. On the other hand, the rich could not live happy and peaceful life. To give an example, one of the Lee Kun Hee daughter commit suicide because of depression. They have lots of money and they are the richest people in Korea. By this, the rich does not always live a peaceful happy life. So, I think that the opinion is wrong.

Sister's birthday

Monday was my sister's birthday. She is now going to middle school and graduate elementary school. We actually knew the day before that her birthday was Monday. So, I didn't have any time to prepare for her birthday present. So, I sent a long message to celebrate her birthday. And I bought an ice cream for her, because she loves ice cream. When I got home, they already prepare for her birthday party. My mom made many delicious dishes and my father bought a huge strawberry cake. We sang a song for her and she blew up all the candles. I hope that it made her birthday happy.

Cousin's visit

  On weekend, my cousins visit us. They came to visit a family member's grave. They first visit the grave and then, came to our house. We tried to go to Oak Valley, however, it was too late and there were too many people. So we plan to return to home. While going home, my mom called me and asked us to watch some movie at the Lotte Cinema. Some of us liked it. However some of us said that they would rather go home and watch television. Other cousins, my younger sister and I watched Berlin. The postscript of Berlin was high. We expect it would be really fun. However we were kind of disappointed. I wasn't that fun as we expected. There were many action scenes and there weren't many stories. However, the actor and actress action were so fantastic! I was really amazed about their actions. After we saw the movie, we went to a restaurant to eat our dinner. The restaurant was so clean and tidy. We ate delicious roasted duck. It was best weekend on my vacation!

The Cut Glass Bowl - F.Scott Fizgerald

  Modernists claims that people should adapt the flows of era, not keeping the past. Learning from past and preventing from the same situation would be a good thing. However, the modernists think that keeping old things would make some troubles. And this story is an example of the troubles that happens when we keep the past things.

  The story 'The Cut Glass Bowl' it shows us the situations when we keep old past things. One part of the story, Evylyn was caught to her husband, cheating with another man. She was caught because of the glass bowl. The man she cheated tried to run away from the house, but he accidently hit the bowl and the bowl made a sound. Another part of the story, Evylyn's daughter, Julie had a blood poisons and she had to cut her hand. The blood poisons occurred because Julie was cut by a glass bowl. Also, when Evylyn's husband invited his family, they drank alcohol, which was contained in the glass bowl. After drinking it, they were drunk and said stupid things to each other. Because of it, they fight with each other. To add some more, Evylyn tries to break the glass bowl, because she thought that it was because of this glass bowl. However, when the glass bowl break, it pierced her and she die.

 To me living in modernistic is a good choice to live. When we look history book, we could see that same things are repeating again and again. And there are the reasons that the era of poverty is poor and the era of the wealthy is rich. We could learn things that were good and we could know and prevent things that are bad. Also, keeping the old things is not good choice. If we keep the past, we could not develop and we would just maintain the same thing. Living a life that is better would be benefit for our lives.
